It helps to say:
- what you play on (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows) and where you got the game (App Store, Steam, itch.io);
- the build number in the corner of the title screen;
- what you did, what you expected and what happened instead (a screenshot or video helps a lot);
- for cloud saves, online play or a ban: your player id, shown in the game's cloud settings.
Questions
What do I play it on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac from the App Store, and Windows and Mac from Steam and itch.io. Play with a controller's analog trigger (fully rebindable, with rumble) or the keyboard.
How many people can play?
Up to four drivers on one screen, each with their own controller, and two players can share an iPhone or iPad with half the screen each. An online room holds up to eight people, four on the track at once and the rest waiting their turn.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Racing, the Grand Prix, the track builder, the paint booth and the arcade all work offline. Online rooms and cloud saves need a connection.
How do I race friends online?
One of you opens an online room and shares its code; the others type it in. The room picks the rules: winner stays on, king of the hill or take turns. On itch.io, online rooms come with the full game: open the game, go to Unlock online and paste the download key from your itch download page.
How do I take my basement to another device?
Turn on cloud saves in the game's cloud settings on both devices. On the new one, choose to join and the game shows a short code; type it on the device you already play on. The code only works for a short time.
How do I delete my cloud save?
In the game's cloud settings, choose Delete cloud basement. That deletes your cloud player and everything kept for it; the save on your device stays. You can also write to us with your player id and we will delete it for you. The privacy policy has the details.
Someone in a room is being a problem. What can I do?
Block them, and report their driver name, paint job or track from the room. Reports come to us, and players who break the rules can be banned from online play.
I've been banned from online play. What now?
If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] with your player id and tell us what happened.
Will new cars and tracks cost extra?
No. Every car, track and feature added after you buy the game is free.
Does the game have ads or track me?
No ads, no ad tracking and no analytics or crash reporting in the game. See the privacy policy.
My Mac or Windows says the itch.io build isn't safe to open.
The itch.io builds aren't signed by Apple or Microsoft yet. On a Mac, open it once, then go to System Settings > Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. On Windows, click More info > Run anyway. More in known issues.
